IAdea, a digital signage company, plans to showcase its near-field-communications add-on to its XDS-1078 smart signboard as a prototype demo at Integrate Expo at Melbourne, Australia from Aug. 29 to 31. The XDS-1078 is designed specifically for meeting rooms, and the NFC add-on will allow customers to book meetings directly from the panel rather than using a website, according to a press release.
The add-on helps enhance security by offering touch-enabled authentication of IDS such as passes or badges. Other features include:
- Offers statistics on room use;
- Designed to blend in with building designs; and
- Various panel options and allows companies to use their own screens with IAdea media players.
“IAdea’s innovation allows users to swipe their company NFC badge at a digital door sign to take the empty room immediately, or intuitively reserve an upcoming empty time slot at this particular room, all using the same touch screen,” John C. Wang, CEO of IAdea, said in the release. “The XDS-1078 intelligent signboard system paired with Concierge software is another example of strengthening the partnership ecosystem.”
